moving into the 3D with “foire virtuelle”

Aerial Conseil set up this 3D platform to promote a local companies exhibition show taking place in Nantes (France). Every companies which wanted to be part of it paid a 600 to 1200 euros adhesion to get a stand and to be able to put there communication outpus online.

It took 6 months and 100 000 euros to give birth to “foire-Virtuelle.com”.

The platform will be accessible during the show from the 29th of october until the 20th of november.

And then… Social Gaming came to life experience.

About 1 week now, Mashable published an infographic and a text by Lauren Drell point out the fact that Social Gaming is:

1- definitly a good way to waste time

2- a opportunity to make new friends

3- a perfect spot for a BRAND to interact with its FANS/TARGETS (by playing together)

LET’S BRING SOME KEY NUMBERS!

A > 56 millions Americans over the age of 6 are playing Social Games

Source: Mashable // 2010

B > about 77% of the brands’ contents on social networks are user generated contents (third party)

Source: 360i, “State-Of-Search-White-Paper” // 2009

C > 83% of people who play use Facebook for Social Gaming

Source: Mashable // 2010

D > at least 400 Million of the 800 Million Facebook members log on to Fb every given day

Source: Facebook stats // 2011

++ (A + B) x (D - A) ++

Social Gaming brings a real opportunity to touch the FANS and let them spread the word to their friends.

The real challenge will be then to mesure the ROI due to Socia Games campaigns.

You have mostly heard about them but who are they?

If sometimes we do not really know where they come from, at least we can say where or when we saw them at the first place.

Those are some of the #lol #trash characters, from Internet vigilantists to “memes”, living all together on the Web. I just wanted to list the ones which have crossed my mind these past weeks while I was browsing the Internet.

the #LOL ones

> let’s start in Osaka, 1973’s Japan, where Mori Chakku gave birth to Gloomy, the abandoned bear which finally broke the neck of his little boy master, Pitty. Gloomy is now kind of cultural more than being a meme.

> Mondo from Mondo Mini Shows with the Happy Tree Friends (for more than 10 years now)

> Pedobear is a two years old bear which ironicly describes pedophilia on the Web and became progressively mainstream.

> and the 8-bit animation Nyan Catwhich has recently (2011) appeared into the WorldWideWeb with the LulzSec reference to it and All Your Base Are Belong To Us.

#LOL with collateral #damage

> they make it for the Lulz, and they called themselve LulzSec. If you play Sony or if you are CIA’s member, there is no need to introduce. For the others, this is a quick overview.

from #LOL to #ACTIVISM

> Behind the mask of V is growing the counter attack of Anonymous on targeted causes… gloomier I guess, fighting for hopes.

And if you still feel mixed-up with the difference or the similarities between Anonymous and LulzSec, I do recommend you to watch this out.

TEMPLE OF THE GIF

Did you catch the new release of MTV communication outfits.

You probably feel like a “déjà-vu” but it’s not.

GIF is closer from a culture than a symbol of one 80’s passed out generation.

I don’t claim it. That’s what people more knowledgeable taught me, like Olia Lialina and Dragan Espenschied in their last conference about “Digital Folklore” (which took place @GaiteLyrique the 23rd of March 2011).

BTW, you can find pieces of their research’s outputs in their “non-digital” book, Digital Folklore.

Moreover, GIF keeps being one the “LOLest” way to take a “LOL” on someone or something. Walking this way, we can eventually reach the conclusion that someone could be considered as a real “GIF”.

SO what meant being: LOL, dumb, or a complete prick, is becoming to be just as simple as… being COOL.

I love life cycles, cheers.
